Have a lot of data, numerical information or statistics you want to include on your WordPress website or blog? Tables are a great way to organize content in a way that’s functional and easy to read, but adding them into your pages or posts can be tricky if you’re not confident with HTML.
Thankfully, there are a number of simple plugins designed to allow you to add tables to your WordPress posts and pages in a snap – no coding knowledge necessary. These are among the best table plugins we’ve used and they’re all free…
TablePress
TablePress allows you to create and manage tables with WordPress via a simple and easy to edit interface. Tables can contain any type of data, and can be included in posts, pages and widgets, and imported and exported from and to CSV files, HTML files and JSON.
With the TablePress plugin, you can even include formulas so your data can be evaluated, and an additional JavaScript library can be used to add features such as sorting, pagination and filtering for site users.
TablePress has been downloaded more than 471,000 times and has an average user rating of 5 stars. For additional information, or to view a demo, go to tablepress.org.
Easy Table
Easy Table generates table content from CVS files, and can display your tables on pages, posts, or within widgets. It boasts an easy design with no advanced skills required, and offers the inclusion of sortable table columns using the tablesorter jQuery plugin.
Easy Table has been downloaded more than 249,000 times and has an average user rating of 4.8 stars.
Ultimate Tables
Insert multiple tables within a single page or post with Ultimate Tables, which offers three table designs and table customization. Create and manage tables within the Ultimate Tables setting in your dashboard, then simple copy and insert the required code into your post, page, or within the Ultimate Tablets widget.
Ultimate Tables has been downloaded more than 35,000 times and has an average user rating of 4.6 stars.
Pricing Table Ready!
If you’re looking for a table plugin specifically to handle pricing data on your website, Pricing Table Ready! has been developed to allow you to generate and manage responsive pricing tables and comparison tables with simple shortcodes.
Choose from five different table templates and create your tables with drag and drop columns and the live preview.
Pricing Table Ready! has been downloaded more than 113,000 times and has an average user rating of 3.4 stars.

Hi I need plugin to fetch data from excel sheet . I want user to fill front end form and according to his information data should be displayed on wordpress page. Like in insurance when customer tells his age i want customized insurance plans to be displayed from excel sheets .
Please help
Hi Carol, it’s not entirely clear to me what you are trying to achieve. You mention a plugin to fetch data from an excel file, but this isn’t possible because Excel documents are not connected to the web. You can display information from Google docs on the web, and infact you can also capture information into a Google Sheet from a web form, but I don’t think this is exactly what you want to do. Can you provide a link to an example or perhaps outline in more detail what you want to achieve.
Hi
I am looking for advance filter options for tables in a free plugin
i am not a dev and have not idea about coding
Tried all the above plugins but could not get the results
Hi Sunil, have you tried the League Table plugin?
TablePress is a good option if you want to display static data in a sortable table. We have developed a free plugin called Posts Table with Search & Sort which uses the same jQuery plugin as TablePress to list all the posts on your WordPress site within a sortable table. This is good if you want to display your posts in a searchable format with filters.
I’m looking for a plug-in for designing tables. Something that allows me to dye my table cells.
May also highlight some lines, round some limits… t.y
Hi Golan, you can use Tablepress for this, you just need to know enough CSS to handle the styling.
Nice list..Its Usefull
FYI: from Websimon website: “Important Notice: This plugin has been removed from the wordpress repository by the admins of that repository. According to them there were security risks with the plugin. I do not have time to make updates of the plugin in the future so for now it will not be updated. I recommend that you use another plugin for your tables.”
Hi Andre, thanks for the heads up. I’ll update the post.
As shown the review that TablePress has more then 471,000 times download stats and 5 star ratings this must be pretty good plugin to create table.
I have to give my vote for TablePress – been using it for a long time!
Somebody that left a comment said that things were not displaying correctly. It’s very common for themes to have styles set for tables and Charles, you were probably correct in saying that the theme may be conflicting with it.
Do we need to have hosted wordpress website to use these plugins i doubt its not made available for free wordpress bloggers, what you suggest.
Hi Harsha, yes you must have a self hosted WordPress site to install all the 3rd party plugins. These are the only plugins available on WordPress.com: https://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/
Tablepress is good but i am facing certain difficulties in this plugin. The table generated are not aligned in the same manner.
Hi Anchal, tis might be related to the theme and/or the plugin. You could contact the plugin developer here: https://tablepress.org/ –
Do you know of any plugin that doesn’t need to insert the code inside the page, but instead, allow to edit “in page” ? It would be much easier
Hi Tom, no I’m not familiar with any plugin that works this way.
nice list which one is best
I use Tablepress myself.
Great list. I would like to add Tabulizer for WordPress which allows you to edit table data directly (plain text or spreadsheet like editor) , or import from various sources (CSV, Excel, HTML, XML,database queries and tables, etc). It has responsive features and data transformation options. Check it out at http://www.tabulizer.com/
Nice List
i am using the pricing table working fine but it shows at the bottom the plugin by link how can i remove it can i remove it or not …..i am using the free version of this
Hi, I recommend posting a support request to the support forum on WordPress.org or contact the plugin developer via their website.
very nice i have used pricing table but i cant adjust more than three collumns in a row on a page means i cant even resize the cols
Your best bet is to contact the plugin developer via their website or the WordPress.org support forum.
Thanks for the suggestions on WordPress plugins for creating tables!
You may also consider wpDataTables talbe plugin. It’s using MySQL, Excel, CSV, JSON, XML, has responsive features, and even can edit MySQL tables from the front-end.
Hi,
I tried the Websimon plugin, but while importing csv file to create table, it shows error like “Could not read file. Give correct FileURL”. My file url is correct, and I can see the data when I type it in the browser. But I can see that many people have used the csv import of this plugin.
Can anyone please advise?
Regards,
Arun
Hi Arun, I recommend you reach out to the plugin author or post your question to the WordPress support forum for this plugin: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/websimon-tables
tnx a lot
I’m using Websimon Tables, it has all the required options. Best for all.
